As a locally-owned and operated business in Ventura County, Tree Factory truly cares about our community. Not only do we serve the area with high-quality cannabis products, but we also give back in other non-cannabis related ways. We came together with several local entities to participate in numerous events throughout the entire year of 2021. We’re especially proud of our inaugural El Rio Toy Drive and the impact it made on local families during the holiday season.
In 2021, Tree Factory participated in Spencer Makenzie’s Cornhole Tournament, the Sublime with Rome concert, and the Hueneme Beach Festival. We even held our own Día De Los Muertos event at our dispensary on Channel Islands Blvd. What made the first El Rio Toy Drive special was the time and effort we put into collecting toys and helping a community that doesn’t normally receive it or even expect it.
December 4-19th
From December 4th to the 19th, Tree Factory customers were encouraged to bring an unopened toy to donate for children and families in need during the holiday season. Some people decided to donate cash instead which also all went towards buying toys for the community. To say thanks, we gave donors 20% off of their next order.
Then, on December 19th, those in need in the community were able to come together and enjoy the festivities. We were handing out free food to anyone who came by. The response from the community was extremely powerful and moving. Several parents came up to thank us for giving their children an opportunity to pick out whatever toys they wanted. We’re proud to say that we were able to give out over 500 toys to families in need.
Sponsors
We had over a dozen amazing sponsors contribute in various ways. These included Embra Cannabis, Korova, and Free Cannabis Co, as well as local restaurants and companies. Some of these were The Body Shop, Foos Gone Wild, Limón y Sal, 102.9 FM, House of Gains Gym, Raza Radio, Smokin’ Jays, AAA Pool Pros, Birria El Guero, Sticker Shark, Splif D TV, Las Aguas, and Lupitas Mexican Restaurant. We can’t thank our sponsors enough for making our first El Rio Toy Drive that much more impactful and meaningful to all parties involved. Check out the full sponsor list in our Instagram post below.

Port Hueneme Cops For Tots & Santa To Sea Toy Drive
The day before our El Rio Toy Drive, we were also participating in two other local toy drives. The Port Hueneme Cops for Tots and Santa To The Sea Toy Drive. Tree Factory made sure to get involved with as many people in our immediate local community this past holiday season. For all of the busyness that came with being involved with two other charity events in addition to hosting and funding our own, we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
Our El Rio Toy Drive Returns Next Year!
The impact we made during our inaugural El Rio Toy Drive was unprecedented. We had no idea that we would be able to make such a positive impact on the local community. There were many who came to us asking if this was a one-time thing. Rest assured, we will be back next holiday season. We plan to make this a yearly event and hope it continues to grow and positively impact the community year after year.
Rest In Peace Eddie Mora (1984-2021)
In addition to giving back to our community, this event was also held to honor Eddie Mora. He was a beloved member of the Tree Factory family who tragically passed at the end of last year. Eddie was a rare breed of person that you don’t come by very often. He was selfless in the way he did business, and made you feel welcome from his presence alone.
A leader in the community, Eddie was tremendously ambitious, tenacious, and intelligent. He was not only a community leader—he was a community creator that left an indelible impression on countless people. Eddie’s meaningful impact on the cannabis industry will forever inspire us. May he rest easy knowing that we fully intend to continue his mission to support our communities and ensure that his legacy lives on forever.
